Educational Support Services
This program is for students who may have a developing deficit, a diagnosed disability such as ADHD, a specific learning disability, or weaknesses in areas of working memory, executive functioning, attention/concentration, visual integration, auditory processing, comprehension, visual motor functioning or other areas interfering with learning.
Support Offered
- The Educational Support Services program is designed to meet the individual needs of the student
- A psycho-educational evaluation within the last three years will be used to determine classroom accommodations
- An Educational Support Team (EST) establishes the specific accommodations, which are monitored by the parents and students. There is no charge for this service.
- Educational Support monitoring and classes are available for an additional fee.
- When possible, Educational Support classes are scheduled to coincide with the regular classroom schedule.
K4, K5 and Pre-1st
- Limit of 5 students per class
- Wilson Fundations and Orton-Gillingham – phonics, multi-sensory and explicit reading instruction
- 30 minutes, 3 times a week
1st-3rd Graders
- Limit of 6 students per class
- Language Arts-Integrated reading, language and writing instruction based upon the Orton-Gillingham method
- 60 minutes, 3 times a week
- Orton-Gillingham Group-Intensive phonics instruction 30 minutes 3x’s week
- Math- Reinforcement of classroom curriculum through multi-sensory activities, 45 minutes, 3 times a week
4th-5th Graders
- Limited to 6 students per class; 30-45 min. 3 times of week
- Reading-Instruction follows the curriculum of the regular classroom with emphasis on remediation in specific areas of weakness, as phonics, fluency and comprehension
- Math-Instruction covers the concepts of the curriculum of the regular classroom
- Language Arts -Grammar and writing instruction following the curriculum of regular classroom
Financial Information
Level I Parent/Student Status Monitoring: No Fee
- EST Conferences (parents, teachers, Educational Support Specialist and outside professionals)
- Educational Support Specialist writes Accommodation Plan utilizing a current psycho-educational evaluation (within 3 years)
- Parent is responsible for monitoring the Accommodation Plan
- Parent is responsible for the communication between the school and home re: grades, homework, tests, etc.
- Parent/student manage the effects of the disability
Level II Educational Support Specialist Monitoring: $1200*
- EST Conferences (parents, teachers, Educational Support Specialist and outside professionals)
- Educational Support Specialist writes Accommodation Plan utilizing a current psycho-educational evaluation (within 3 years)
- Educational Support Specialist is responsible for monitoring the Accommodation Plan
- Educational Support Specialist is responsible for the communication between school and home
- Educational Support Specialist assists in the management of the disability
Level III Educational Support Class:
$3030 one content area* $6060 two or more content areas*
*Annual Fee in addition to Student’s FCS tuition fee
Elementary Educational Support Students
- Student is enrolled in one or more Educational Support classes
- EST conferences (parents, teachers, Educational Support Specialist and outside professionals)
- Educational Support Specialist writes Accommodation Plan utilizing current psycho-educational evaluation (within 3 years)
- Educational Support Specialist is responsible for monitoring the Accommodation Plan
- Educational Support Specialist is responsible for the communication between the school and home re: grades, homework, tests, etc. on a biweekly basis
