The goal of a coach should be to help players and fellow coaches surpass their potential. By focusing on the fine details rather than the final result, I have found athletes can excel in their positions which leads to significant results. As a student of athletics, I am constantly searching to gain knowledge in many different areas. I also understand that while I am the coach, it is equally important to learn from my players just as much as they learn from me. On the field, if all my players learn from me is how to block and tackle I will have failed in fulfilling my responsibility as a coach. I believe the correlation between life and sports allows for coaches to have a tremendous impact on the players' careers on the field and most importantly off the field. Do right and the little things will lead to big things. |

For me, there is no greater calling than leading young people, particularly young men, into experiences that prepare them for life. Football, unlike any other sport, can take you to your highest highs and your lowest lows. It builds character and helps develop leaders. Helping young men build those qualities while teaching them how to be successful both on and off the field is my passion and hobby, but hardly a job. |

- Congratulations to senior Trent Van Pelt, selected Atlanta Falcons Captain in the Community. Fellowship Christian School will receive a $1,000 grant from the Atlanta Falcons to support future community initiatives. Trent will also be mentioned on the Falcons Community Relations blog at atlantafalcons.com.
