Bible CurriculumOld Testament Survey (Bible 9)This course is designed to give students an understanding of how God communicated to His people and how that applies today. Students will be exposed to the various genres of the Old Testament and will be able to pull God’s message for all time out of each book of the Old Testament. The emphasis is on life application of God’s word in the everyday spiritual life of the student. New Testament Survey and Missions (Bible 10)This course is designed to give the student an understanding of the crucifixion of Christ, the relationship shared with Christ, and life application of how to glorify God in everyday living. Christian Philosophy & Ethics (Bible 11)This course focuses on teaching the students how to think critically about their life and faith. The purpose is to help ground the students in their faith so that they may be thoughtful, faithful witnesses. The students will interact with the philosophical, scientific, historical and biblical/theological reasons to believe in their faith (apologetics). They will learn about the history of philosophy and major thinkers as well as other religions and cults in order that they may understand what others believe and why. In addition the students will analyze the contemporary cultural scene and think through how a Christian should live faithfully in this world (ethics). Biblical Doctrine: Excellent Womanhood (12th Grade Girls)This course is a study of Biblical womanhood and Christian doctrines with a strong emphasis on application. The girls will be encouraged to grow in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ, develop an understanding of healthy relationships as a single or married woman, and learn a variety of practical skills in homemaking (cooking, sewing, etc.) Biblical Doctrine: Nobleheart (12th Grade Boys)This course considers the total truth of God’s Word as it pertains to the life of a man. From the core of who men are: integrity, creativity, vision, strength, honor to relationships (with ladies, parents, brothers in Christ), men’s roles, and authority, to current cultural issues they will have t o steer their lives through. The classes are a mixture of lecture, discussion, readings, debate, and speakers, and annual events THOR Day and the end of class camping trip in the North Georgia wilderness. |
