Educational Support Services

Educational Support Services is designed to assist students in K-4 through 12th grades that may have a developing deficit, a diagnosed disability such as ADHD, a specific learning disability, or weaknesses in areas of working memory, executive functioning, attention/concentration, visual integration, auditory processing, comprehension, visual motor function or other areas interfering with learning.

Families may be asked to enroll their child with Educational Support Services if it is determined by the area principal that academic success at FCS will be more likely attainable within the program. This will be decided on a case-by-case basis and applies to both current and prospective students.

A recent educational psychological evaluation (within 3 years) is required in order for services to be enlisted. Educational Support Services offers several levels of support so a plan can be designed to meet the individual needs of a student. This plan is adjusted as needed.

Writing of the Accommodation Plan $100*

Educational Support Specialist meets with parents to discuss their student’s needs and past educational support, reads psycho-educational evaluation, writes the Accommodation Plan, organizes and runs Accommodation Plan meeting with parents and current teachers.

The High School grades consist of the following levels of support:

(Study hall must already be a part of the student’s weekly schedule) This time is used to teach study skills, organization, preview class material, review for tests and to re-teach material under the classroom teacher’s direction.
