Service

GO Service Program GO is the vehicle through which our students intentionally serve their community and cultivate a lifestyle of service. GO fosters an environment in which FCS students take ownership of their own community outreach, immerse themselves in service, and therefore become instrumental in its success. GO hours are a mandatory requirement for every student. For more information on GO please check out the information below or log into your RenWeb parent account. Click here for RenWeb.

This non-profit camp program offers quality “family time” to siblings who were separated as a result of being placed in the foster care system. Utilizing our Get Up and Go service projects and partnering with Children’s Restoration Network, FCS hosts three major holiday events during the year: A Big Night Out, a Christmas Party and Valentine’s Day Bowling Party.

This is a daycare dedicated to serving the Roswell children whose family-life quality qualifies them as “the working poor”. FCS students serve as class room assistants to these children as well as serve on project teams designed to maintain a safe play environment for the children.

A non-profit organization that helps meet the practical needs of children in the Georgia foster care system. FCS students assist with sorting through donations, stocking shelves in the thrift store and packaging clothes for shipment to be sent to children living to far to drive to the store.

This non-profit Foster Child Organization assists families that provide foster care to Georgia children. The practical needs cover a wide spectrum of issues which many times go unrecognized by the state or the state is simply unable to meet. The Athletic Teams will have a unique opportunity to support this organization through the FCS Athletic Department’s Junior Paladin Program.

Operation Christmas Child, a Samaritan’s Purse program, provides toys and toiletries to children in need all over the world. FCS students assist with the collection of the toy-filled shoe boxes contributed by fellow classmates as well as serve in Samaritan’s Purse’s Operation Center.

To support a city-wide campaign to “Keep Roswell Beautiful” the city of Roswell has implemented three different service programs in which FCS participates: Adopt-a-Road Program, Adopt-a-Stream Program and Rivers Alive!

The Go Green Recycling Team is an internal FCS program that will be responsible for promoting the program, collecting, sorting and arranging the pick-up of recyclable materials used on the FCS Campus.

In honor of cancer survivors and as a way to raise funds for American Cancer Society, FCS is planting daffodil bulbs within the landscape beds along Woodstock Road.

The American Cancer Society is committed to providing a caring and supportive environment for patients and their caregiver. The Winn-Dixie Hope Lodge is designed to be a “home away from home” which is available to cancer patients undergoing outpatient treatments at no cost. The FCS Team will prepare and serve meals for the Hope Lodge guests four times during the academic year.

The Georgia Cancer Foundation provides education, early detection, and support for Georgia residents affected by all types of cancer. Celebration of Life is an annual luncheon and fashion show event that celebrates the lives of breast cancer survivors and all those who support them in their journey. Select FCS students will be able to support this annual special event.

JDRF organizes Walk-a-Thons to increase awareness of this devastating childhood disease as well as raise funds for research. The Kids Walk to Cure Diabetes program will give Fellowship students the opportunity to help the diabetic students in our own school and the millions of others in our world living with Type 1 Diabetes.

The Drake House provides short-term emergency housing and supportive services to homeless mothers with dependent children. Residents of North Fulton must be drug and alcohol free and employed or employable to apply for help from the Drake House. FCS students will regularly provide complete meals to the residents and childcare for their children during their monthly lifestyles meetings.

Eagle’s Nest is located in downtown Atlanta and provides support and assistance to homeless and working poor. FCS students will provide computer assistance to individuals seeking help at the center.

This non-profit organization renovates or constructs new homes for families in need. FCS students will partner with Habitat for Humanity and The Youth United Committee to provide funding and construction of a home for a local needy family as well as have an opportunity to prepare lunches for the construction teams.

Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee is on a mission to provide excellent coffee, to support sustainable economic development, and to be a catalyst for reconciliation in Rwanda. FCS students will be raising funds for the Rwanda people through sales of the coffee during home football games.

The mission of North Fulton Community Charities is to prevent homelessness in North Fulton by supporting families in their homes. Their vision is to compassionately offer hope and dignity to North Fulton families and individuals during short-term emergencies by pooling the resources of local religious, business, and civic groups and individuals. FCS students assist with serving in the food bank and provide support for the NFCC Holiday Assistance Program.

The Hospital Art Foundation creates beautiful art canvases with the purpose of adorning hospital walls all over the world. They also partner with The Atlanta Union Mission’s to create a rehabilitation program called Operation Lovejoy, which enables homeless men to create paintings that are hung in VA hospitals. FCS students assist with the painting sessions with the men in the Mission as provide touch up work to the canvases ready for display.

This center provides affordable assisted living for senior citizens who are unable to care for themselves. FCS students are able to reach out to the seniors through a flower delivery program established in conjunction with flowers donated by Trader Joes.
