Overview - Student Government Association
The purpose of the Student Government Association at Fellowship Christian School is to encourage spiritual maturity of the student body, promote the general welfare of the school, create opportunities for student involvement by coordinating school activities, promoting school spirit, and providing a channel of communication between the students and school administration while setting an example for all FCS students on and off campus.
Student Government sponsors many events integral to student life and are helpful in the execution of many others including: Homecoming, Barnburner, Jr./Sr. Formal, SGA elections, Freshman Sock hop, 10th grade dance, Winter Dance, Freshman orientation, daily announcements, high school retreat, class fundraisers, Friday pizza lunches, and more.
SGA at Fellowship consists of 25 student officers. Each grade has 5 officers elected by the students in that grade: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Class Representative. Student Body consists of exclusively upperclassman elected by the entire student body and the offices are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Chaplain and are responsible for organizing and leading SGA as a whole.
Freshmen elections are held in the fall during the first few weeks of school. All other grades and Student Body elections are in the spring.
An SGA retreat is held the last weekend of summer to start planning for the year ahead. SGA meetings are held before school one day a week.
