Computer Curriculum

The study of computers is essential, and Fellowship Christian School recognizes that technology is a powerful tool for learning. Computer education enables students to use the creative talents that God has given them to visualize their ideas and manipulate software while completing projects. Computer education is taught to all students in sixth through eighth grades. The ultimate purpose of our computer curriculum is to equip students with the technical skills needed to be prepared for high school and college.

Sixth Grade - Keyboarding

Students learn to:

  • use proper key stroking skills
  • move each finger independently
  • increase accuracy and speed
  • touch type
  • use correct techniques and posture

Seventh Grade—Document and Project Workflow

Students gain a basic understanding of the following:

  • internet skills
  • word processing skills
  • multimedia skills
  • publishing skills
  • spreadsheet skills

Eighth Grade - Digital Design

Students are challenged to go beyond a basic understanding and develop the following skills:

  • line and design
  • document layout
  • use of color in graphics
  • web vs print graphic elements
  • introduction to graphic editing software (Fireworks)
