What I enjoy most: One of the things I enjoy most is seeing boys and girls start out at one point in elementary school and then see how they grow and mature in their relationship with the Lord. It is a true blessing to have the opportunity to be used by God to influence these boys and girls. God has a plan for each of their lives and it is exciting to see that plan unveil.

Bonnie Sellers
Christy Bell
Teacher

Undergraduate Degree: B.A. Business Administration/Accounting, Georgia Southern University
Graduate Degree: M.Ed. Middle Grades Education, Mercer University
Education Experience: Three years at FCS, ten years total
Church Home: Fellowship Bible Church
Favorite Bible Verse: Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:14-16
What I enjoy most: I enjoy the students, and the opportunity that I have to interact with them. Middle school students are so much fun! They are energetic and full of excitement about life and eager to learn more about themselves and their world. It is an honor to be able to play a part in their learning and discovery about who they are in Christ. I count it a privilege and a responsibility to partner with the parents to "train them up in the way they should go so that when they are old they will not depart from it”. Proverbs 22:6.

What I enjoy most: I enjoy teaching students about how miraculous God made mathematics in our world and how the concepts that we study tie together so perfectly. It blesses me to see a student suddenly “get” a solution to a problem and thereby become far more confident and proficient in math.

Favorite Bible Verse: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:36-40
What I enjoy most: I enjoy getting students excited about our history. God has blessed our country and it is because we really believe “In God We Trust”. Favorite Bible Verse: For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
What I enjoy most: The most rewarding part of teaching to me is watching students get excited about science and see God’s fingerprints in all of creation.  My desire is that students would  know without a doubt that He exists and science shouts as a testimony of His glory. Second, I believe that education is the vehicle that equips students with the knowledge and discipline they need to fulfill their own calling and purpose for which God planned in advance. Middle school is about students taking ownership of their learning so that they can be ready for that calling.

Trip Hughes
Trip Hughes
Art Teacher

Undergraduate Degree: B.A. Psychology, Auburn University
Education Experience: One year at FCS, twelve years total
Church Home: Cherokee Presbyterian Church
Favorite Bible Verse: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: "For Thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord Romans 8:35-39
What I enjoy most: I enjoy building a relational ministry with the students that I teach, using a passion for fine arts as a vehicle for interaction. All of the world around us is inspired and given life by God. I attempt to show students, not only how that impacts how we approach Art, but how we live our lives as part of God's creative handiwork.
Courses: Art 6, Art 7, Art 8

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:1-2

What I enjoy most: I enjoy the opportunity to work with young people and have an impact on their lives.  Your work day is never the same and I enjoy the energy and enthusiasm they bring to their days and mine.  The biggest thing I would like a student to learn from me is to love Jesus and to do their very best in all things.  I would like them to learn to not measure success by the world’s standards, but rather by God’s.
