YouScience Profile Completion

Junior Students and Parents

As part of the summer work packet, the counseling department requires all rising Juniors to complete their YouScience Profile.

The YouScience Profile is an exciting tool that allows students to discover their unique set of God-given talents through the revolutionary intersection of aptitudes, interests and personality. The online,  scientific  program  takes  students  through  a  series  of  assessments  and  interest questions designed to determine their results in the 14 key aptitudes utilized in the working world. The  results  include  a  review  of  the student’s  strengths,  suggested  environments  where  they can succeed, detailed  information on possible careers that match those skills and  interests, majors that can create a map  to  those  careers,  and  much  more. At the start of the school year we will  assist the students as they review and interpret their comprehensive results. 

Based  on  the  science  behind  the  YouScience  Profile  and  our  review  of  the  program,  we find that this tool assists as students in making  more  informed  decisions when  it  comes  to  major  and  career-related  choices. This  could  translate  into  a  more  cost-effective  and  enjoyable  journey  through their college years. The results are accessible to students for 10 years, thus providing support as they make initial career choices. And finally, your profile will automatically provide you with a word bank for help in describing your personal strengths to use in writing college and job applications and preparing for interviews.

Juniors

Complete the assessment on a laptop or desktop- this assessment CAN NOT be completed on an iPad.

1. Log in using gmail to your FCS student email address (s.your.name@fcsweb.org) – You have been sent an invitation to create a login for YouScience
2. Create your own profile using your FCS email account and create your own password. Please use a familiar password and make a note of your password so you are able to log in and access your results at your leisure.
3. Complete all sections of the YouScience profile this summer in a distraction- free environment.You may complete it all in one sitting or section by section. You will know how long a section is prior to starting, and you may take breaks between sections, but please do not stop in the middle of a section.

             * Your completion of this assessment in its entirety is your ticket to schedule your Junior meeting with Mrs. Dean.

Parents

Please remind your Junior students to be free from phones, TV or other distraction as they complete this assessment. They may complete it in its entirety (about 1.5 hours) or may take breaks between sections. However, they need to complete a section before taking a break.  They will be notified immediately by email when their results are ready.
