About the FCS Board of Directors:
The FCS Board of Directors follows the Policy Governance® model of governance and leadership. The Board’s primary purpose is to represent the school’s owners (God and mission-minded Christians in our school community) in verifying that the school stays true to its mission and achieves desired outcomes (as stated in the Board’s Ends Policies) within specified parameters (as stated in the Board’s Executive Limitations Policies.)
Members of the Board serve a minimum of one three-year term and generally meet once a month for regular Board Meetings.
Duties of the Board of Directors include:
- Hiring and evaluating the Head of School
- Reviewing and approving annual budgets, tuition rates, and fees proposed by the Head of School
- Arranging an annual audit of the school’s financial statements by a third party
- Helping to set the spiritual tone for the school
- Individually and corporately praying for the school’s administration, faculty, staff, parents, and students
The Board of Directors is not responsible for the daily administration of the school and its programs, nor does it author the Policy Guide; those duties are the responsibility of the Head of School and the Administration.
