Booster President's Letter - 2021

Dear Paladin Nation,

My name is Jay Waggoner, and I am honored to serve as your 2021-22 Paladin Athletic Booster Club President. I, along with Fellowship Athletic Director David Lowery, would like to sincerely thank our members for supporting Fellowship athletics. Through the funds raised from membership fees and the volunteer support provided by our members, you are truly impacting the athletic experiences of our Paladin student-athletes.

If you have not yet had a chance to join, I would like to personally invite you to Join the Booster Club today. Our mission is to support and promote the advancement of the athletic programs at Fellowship. Beyond that, our goal is to support Every Athlete in Every Sport at Every Level within FCS. To that end, we would like to share with you how member support has helped us to accomplish our goal of supporting every athlete and every sport.

In recent years, the funds raised by the Booster Club have provided for the following:

Facilities Upgrades:

Paladin Center: There is a lot more to athletics than what happens during the competition. Whether engaging in strength and conditioning training or team meetings, our student-athletes spend countless hours preparing for their sport. To better support all student-athletes, teams, and coaches, construction was completed over the summer at the Paladin Center to offer enhanced team storage space, as well as a meeting room that will hold up to 80 players and coaches. Workstations are also now available for all community coaches.

Students in strength and conditioning classes, as well as those that participate in the summer strength and conditioning programming, will now also benefit from platforms in the weight lifting area and an expanded nutrition bar.

Additionally, the boys locker room, utilized by football, lacrosse, and soccer, was upgraded to better serve those teams.

Paladin Stadium: Funds raised by the Booster Club supported recent stadium projects, including the addition of the restrooms.

Winchester Field: Fellowship is blessed to have one of the most beautiful baseball facilities in the area. Recent projects to support our baseball program included the purchase of a portable, on-field batting cage, as well as new tarps for the pitching mound and home plate area. The Booster Club also helped to fund the laser grading and leveling of the infield.

Technology Support:

We were thankful that, in spite of COVID-19 concerns last year, Fellowship was able to complete all sports seasons. Unfortunately, our amazing Paladin fans were not able to be present at all sporting events. Due to the enhanced fiber optic wiring and our licensing agreement with live-streaming network NFHS, our fans didn’t have to miss a game as we were able to offer access to all games held on Bob Lord Field or in Gym 1.

We are also pleased to provide our volleyball, football, basketball, and lacrosse programs with an annual subscription to HUDL. Our student-athletes definitely benefit from this resource as it is one of the most powerful tools coaches and athletes can use to analyze game film.

Equipment:

Funds raised by the Booster Club have provided for the following equipment purchases:

  • New volleyball nets, antennas, practice balls, and game balls;
  • Add-on units to expand the 3-man blocking sled to a 5-man sled, which is used by both the middle and high school football teams;
  • Two Dr. Dish shooting machines for use by the middle and high school basketball teams, as well as new basketballs; and
  • New lacrosse goals, nets, and a goal carrier.

Additional Support Provided by the Booster Club:

  • Transportation: During the 2021 spring and fall seasons, the Booster Club chartered buses for road trips of 80+ miles for boys lacrosse and football.
  • Professional Development: Funding provided by the Booster Club allows Fellowship to provide our coaches with passes to coaches clinics, webinars, and conventions.
  • Post Season Meals
  • Post Season Awards: Letterman jacket patches for accomplishments, selections, and recognitions including: All-Region, All-State, Region and/or State Player of the Year, Region Champion, State Champion, etc.

We hope you are proud of all that we have accomplished, and we know that together we can do more! Your membership and support play a vital role in helping us provide Fellowship coaches and student-athletes with the resources they need to succeed both on and off the field.

We are thankful for the opportunity to serve Fellowship athletics and humbled by the generosity and support of our members. If David or I can answer any questions or be of service in any way, please contact us directly.

With Sincere Gratitude,

Jay Waggoner
