Paladins Beat Johnson; Even Record at 3-3
The Fellowship Christian School ninth grade baseball team has evened its record with a road victory.
On March 10 in Gainesville, Fellowship (3-3 overall) posted a 10-7 win over 5A Johnson High School to snap a three-game skid.
The team rallied from a 2-1 deficit after three innings with three runs apiece in the fourth and fifth inning, one in the sixth and two more in the seventh to take a 10-4 lead. Johnson scored twice in both the third and fourth innings, and three times in the bottom of the seventh. FCS plated one run in the top of the second.
Fellowship pounded out 10 hits, including three from freshman Max Sears and two from freshman Aubrey Moraitakis.
Sears topped the Paladins with four RBIs. Moraitakis and freshmen Henry Hays, Johnny Long and Thomas Lubben all knocked in one run.
Relief pitcher Will Austin picked up the win. The freshman threw 3 2/3 innings, scattered four hits, allowed three earned runs, walked one and fanned four batters. Moraitakis started and went three innings. Hays relieved him before Austin entered the game. Freshman Hudson Pizza got the game’s last out.
Fellowship Falls to Decatur in Second Game of Doubleheader
The Fellowship Christian School ninth grade boys baseball team fought hard in a doubleheader at Decatur High School on March 7.
The Paladins (2-3 overall) lost the second game of the doubleheader against 5A Decatur, 9-5. Decatur took the first game, 10-0.
Fellowship won the first two games of the season, but is now on a three-game skid.
Paladins Comes up Short at 5A Decatur
The Fellowship Christian School ninth grade boys baseball team opened a doubleheader on the road with a loss.
The Paladins (2-2 overall) suffered a 10-0 loss at 5A Decatur High School on March 7.
Paladins Suffer First Loss
The Fellowship Christian School ninth grade boys baseball team has suffered its first loss of the season.
Fellowship dropped its first game of the season on the road at King’s Academy on Feb. 28.
It ended the club's two-game win streak.
FCS Downs Riverwood in Second Game in Peachtree City
The Fellowship Christian School ninth grade boys baseball team defeated Riverwood International School, 10-0, in the second game of the day played at Home Plate Baseball in Peachtree City.
The game was rained out on Feb. 13 at Riverwood, and later moved to Home Plate Baseball as the second game of two for Fellowship.
The Paladins (2-0 overall) pounded out 12 hits against Riverwood. FCS scored twice in the top half of the first inning, once more in the third, four times in the fifth and three runs in the seventh.
Freshmen Connor Davidson and Jack Rickheim held Riverwood to three hits and combined to earn the shutout win.
Fellowship Downs Trinity at Home Plate Baseball
The Fellowship Christian School ninth grade boys baseball team opened the season with a victory.
In the first of two games played at Home Plate Baseball in Peachtree City, Ga., the Paladins pounded out 13 hits in a 13-2 victory over Trinity High School’s freshman team on Feb. 22. The game, originally scheduled for Feb. 22 at Winchester Field at Paladin Park, was moved to Peachtree City from FCS due to the recent wet weather.
Trinity is located in Sharpsburg, Ga.
The Paladins scored one run in the top half of the first inning, three in the fourth, one in the fifth, two in the sixth and six in the seventh. Trinity’s two runs came in the bottom of the second.
Freshmen Daniel Powell and Aubrey Moraitakis held Trinity to three hits.
