2026 Alumni Update: Cheerleader Roundup

Jaroszewski Earns Spot on UGA Cheerleading Squad; Peyton Rountree, Buckner and Shepler All Cheer During 2025-26 College Season

Julianna Jaroszewski has earned a spot on the University of Georgia’s cheerleading team following tryouts held in April 2026.

“It’s nerve wracking,” Jaroszewski said. “It’s a tough situation – you compete with two other people at the same time in front of a panel of judges. They have scoresheets in front of them and grade your performance. But I made it!”

Jaroszewski, who graduated from Fellowship Christian School in 2025, spent her freshman college year at the University of Alabama before transferring to UGA for her sophomore year.

She’s excited for the school year and cheering at UGA football games.

“We just started practicing a month ago, sometimes here [in Atlanta] and sometimes in Athens,” Jaroszewski said. “It’s still new, but I am enjoying it. I will cheer for football, volleyball, basketball and gymnastics. It’s all-year round for us.”

Reese Rountree, a 2026 UGA and 2022 FCS graduate, was a familiar face for Jaroszewski during tryouts.

“I talk to her a lot,” Jaroszewski said. “She was a good person to see before the tryouts. She encouraged me and told me it was in God’s hands, so relax. It was great advice.”

Jaroszewski cheered at FCS from fourth to 12th grades.

“I had great coaches at FCS, including my mom [Krista Jaroszewski], Coach Moore and Coach Bohler,” Jaroszewski said. “They all helped me so much. Being part of the FCS program prepared me well, especially for sideline cheering at UGA.”

Jaroszewski is a sophomore health promotion major with a pre-PA [physician’s assistant] track.

Rountree and fellow FCS graduates – Brooke Buckner (Mississippi State), her sister Peyton Rountree (University of Mississippi) and Sarah Shepler (Liberty University) all cheered at NCAA Division I schools.Click on the Alumni Athletes page and scroll through to June 9 to view a story on Reese Rountree.

She helped the Ole Miss squad capture the NCAA National Cheerleading Championships held at ESPN Center in Orlando, Fla., in January.

The Ole Miss squad competed against more than 20 schools over the three-day event.

As a freshman, Rountree cheered for the Rebels’ football and men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball teams.

Shepler Completes Freshman Year at Liberty University in 2025-26

Sarah Shepler, a 2025 graduate of Fellowship, completed her freshman season of cheering at Liberty University this past school year.

She was part of the Flames’ cheer squad that participated in the UCA Nationals that was held in January 2026 in Orlando, Fla.

Sarah’s brother, Clay, is a member of the Flames’ varsity football team. He’s a 2023 graduate of FCS.
