Petty Plays in 10 Games as Freshman at Georgia Tech

The first five-star recruit in Fellowship Christian School football history, Josh Petty made his collegiate football debut at Georgia Tech University last fall.

Petty played in 10 games as a true freshman for the Yellow Jackets. The 2025 graduate of FCS joined the Tech program following the fall Fellowship semester and his senior football season.

The 6-foot-6, 285-pound tackle helped the Yellow Jackets go 9-4 overall, including a 6-2 mark in ACC contests in 2025.

For the 2025 season, Petty was reunited with former Paladin teammate Evan Haynes – who transferred to Tech from the University of North Carolina last summer – and former Fellowship head coach Tim McFarlin in downtown Atlanta. McFarlin, FCS’ head coach in 2022 and 2023, enters his third season as Georgia Tech’s director of high school relations.

Haynes, who has played football with Petty since the fifth grade, is a redshirt freshman wide receiver at Tech.
