Middle School Cross-Country Teams Wrap Up Season

The boys and girls middle school cross-country squad from Fellowship Christian School competed against 11 other teams at the Metro 10 League Championships held on Oct. 3 at Allatoona Creek Park in Acworth

“All in all, a good solid race for many of our middle school team,” head coach Tom Harrison said. “The boys JV team finished third with very impressive end of season performances by several of our runners.”

Four JV runners finished in the top 20, including Myles Morecraft, Ryland Sindelar, Charlie Pritchett and Liam Flurry. Morecraft, Sindelar and Pritchett each earned medals for their strong finishes at fourth, 12^th and 15^th, respectively.

“Myles Morecraft led the way among varsity and JV runners by posting the fastest overall time for the team [13:25], which is a great end of season PR hit for him,” Harrison said. “Other runners setting new PRs in this race included Charlie Pritchett and Liam Flurry.”

For the girls, Nicole Fuggle also finished her season with a new PR in the two-mile race.

Fellowship Team Competes in Cartersville

The boys’ and girls’ middle school cross-country squad from Fellowship Christian School wrapped up its regular season with its fourth meet of the season – the Wingfoot XC Classic at Sam Smith Park in Cartersville on Sept. 21.

“The Wingfoot does not provide typical race-day competition for middle school,” head coach Tom Harrison said. “Instead, the racecourse is shorter [1.8 miles and not 2 miles], and the races are considered community youth races, which includes middle school entries. The 1.8 distance and terrain of the course provided an excellent opportunity for our team members to pace themselves a little differently and to take advantage of a long approach to the finish line. After the one-mile mark, several of our runners gained impressive ground as they passed runners on their way into the finish line. Individual effort paid off in this shorter race as runners stepped up to finish strong for the team.”

FCS entered 11 boys and four girls into the youth races.

FCS Runners Combine for 10 PRs at Warpath Invitational

The boys’ and girls’ middle school cross-country squad from Fellowship Christian School competed at the Warpath Invitational at Boling Park in Canton.

“It was a good race day in Canton as the middle school girls’ and boys’ teams competed in the Fleet Feet Warpath Invitational,” head coach Tom Harrison said. “Although threatening skies appeared in the morning, the rain held off and cool weather prevailed, providing excellent race day conditions for our runners. Several runners took advantage of the flat course and good weather to turn in their best times of the season so far. With this race falling at the mid-season point, the effort from the meet demonstrates the progress the team is making towards attaining individual and team goals.”

A total of 10 out of the 17 runners competing for FCS set new personal records.

It was the third meet of the season the Fellowship team.
