Playoff Loss: Lady Paladins Fall to Mount Vernon in Quarterfinals
The season ended for the girls’ middle school tennis squad from Fellowship Christian School with a playoff loss.
The Lady Paladins dropped a 4-1 decision to The Mount Vernon School at Sandy Springs Tennis Center in Atlanta in the quarterfinals of the Metro 10 League Championships on Dec. 3. FCS is the No. 6 seed, and the Lady Mustangs are the No. 3 seed.

“Our playoff run has come to an end after this afternoon’s quarterfinals match,” head coach Jessica Cheely said. “The Lady Paladins took one line, but they won the rest. I am so proud of this team and how far we’ve come since our first time on the court together back in mid-September. Each girl has become more confident, thoughtful and resilient. We’ve pushed each other to dig deep, give our best, to ‘control the controllables’ and to ‘flush it [all the rest]’.
“I love these girls so much and coaching them really has been one of the greatest joys of my life. I feel a tremendous honor and great responsibility for what has been entrusted to me for this season.”
