Regular-Season Finale: Boys’ and girls’ tennis teams both beat King’s Ridge, 3-2

The boys’ and girls’ tennis teams ended the regular season on a winning note.

Both teams posted 3-2 victories over King’s Ridge Christian School at Paladin Court at Paladin Park on Nov. 21.

“It was an incredible effort by the entire team,” girls’ head coach Jessica Cheely said. “Every match was close and the conditions were less than desirable on a cold and windy day.”

The boys improved to 4-8 overall and the girls are 4-7.

Lady Paladins Win Third Match of Season

The girls’ middle school tennis squad from Fellowship Christian School won its third match of the season on Nov. 21.

The Lady Paladins won 4-1 at Saint Francis. It was a Metro 10 League match.

“The girls took four lines today,” girls head coach Jessica Cheely said. “A highlight from today was eighth-grader Tyler Arrington first singles win – she played aggressive from the baseline and didn’t let up any leads she had.”

The Lady Paladins are now 3-7 overall.

The boys lost a close match, 3-2, to the Knights.

The Paladins are now 3-8 overall.

Streak Snapped: Paladins’ Three-Match Win Streak Ends, Girls Also Fall at Cornerstone

A three-game march streak by the boys’ middle school tennis squad from Fellowship Christian School came to an end.

The boys dropped a 3-2 decision to Cornerstone Christian Academy in a Metro 10 League match played at Jones Bridge Swim & Tennis Club on Nov. 18.

The boys are now 3-7 overall.

The girls’ squad from FCS also dropped a 3-2 decision to Cornerstone.

“The girls took two lines today – Ellalee Smith [eighth grade] won singles line No. 1, and Emmy DelliCarpini [eighth grade] won singles line No. 2,” girls’ head coach Jessica Cheely said.

The Lady Paladins are now 2-7 overall.
