Lady Paladins Beat Mt. Bethel Christian Academy in Playoff Opener

The eighth-grade girls’ basketball squad from Fellowship Christian School has advanced in the playoffs.

The Lady Paladins notched a 30-21 win over Mt, Bethel Christian Academy at Paladin Gym on Jan. 22 in the quarterfinals of the Metro 10 League playoffs.

FCS plays in the semifinals the week of Jan. 26.

“The girls executed our defensive plan beautifully,” head coach Kimberly Nelson said. “I am so proud of the girls and the way they hustled and played hard from start to finish.”

Mary Kate Smith led FCS with 15 points.

Fellowship has now won consecutive contests and three out of its last four contests.

The Lady Paladins improved to 10-6 overall. The team went 4-4 in Metro 10 League regular-season contests.

Lady Paladins Edge Saint Francis at Home

The eighth-grade girls’ basketball squad from Fellowship Christian School’s game against Saint Francis on Jan. 12 went right down to the wire.

The Lady Paladins posted a 32-31 win over the Lady Knights. It was a Metro 10 League contest played at Paladin Gym.

“It was so fun and intense, and the game came down to the last second,” head coach Kimberly Nelson said. “Our girls hit our free throws to take the lead. The girls brought intensity to the court and pressed well to create turnovers on Saint Francis. I am so proud of the girls and the way they stayed in the game to the last second.”

Campbell Burroughs led FCS in scoring with 16 points.

The Lady Paladins have now won three out their last five contests, and five of eight.

Fellowship improved to 9-6 overall, including a 4-4 league record.
