National Honors

Three FCS Athletes Earn USA Lacrosse Honors

A trio of lacrosse athletes from Fellowship Christian School have been recognized by USA Lacrosse.

Grant Mauldin, who graduated from FCS in May, was named an USA Lacrosse All American. He was a four-year member of the Paladin varsity program.

A pair of rising seniors from the Fellowship girls’ lacrosse team were also recognized.

Ella Upchurch was named a USA Lacrosse All American and Emma Thomas was picked as USA Lacrosse All Academic.

Mauldin has been recognized by USA Lacrosse before.

A goaltender, Mauldin was named to the 2024 USA National Select U18 Boys Lacrosse Team (goalie) by USA Lacrosse in August 2024. He served as team captain of USA Lacrosse Under-18 Team at 2024 Brogden Cup, helping the team go undefeated and win it all, outscoring opponents 40-11.
In August 2023, Mauldin was picked for the 2023 USA National Select U16 Boys Lacrosse Team (goalie) by USA Lacrosse.

Post-Season Gals Lax Honors: Four Lady Paladins Named to GHSA A-4A All-State Girls Lacrosse Team

Four members of the Fellowship Christian School varsity girls’ lacrosse team were named to the GHSA A-4A All-State Girls Lacrosse Team.

The honored players included:

Junior Ella Upchurch (Midfielder) – First Team
Junior Reese Phipps (Attacker) – Second Team
Senior Reagan Nokes (Defender) – Second Team
Junior Emma Thomas (Defender) – Third Team

Post-Season Girls Lax Honors: Five Lady Paladins Named to All-Area 5 Team

Five members of the Fellowship Christian School varsity girls’ lacrosse team were selected for the GHSA D1 All-Area 5 Girls Lacrosse Team.

The honored players included:

Junior Reese Phipps (Attacker) – First Team
Junior Ella Upchurch (Midfielder) – First Team
Senior Reagan Nokes (Defender) – First Team
Junior Emma Thomas (Defender) – First Team
Junior Georgia Denton (Attacker) – Honorable Mention

This year marked Fellowship’s seventh consecutive trip to the state playoffs.

FCS ended the season with a 13-4 overall record.

Coaches

Tracy Morgan, Director of Varsity Girls Lacrosse

Years in teaching/coaching: Enters 2025-26 school year with more than 30 years in strength, speed and agility coaching, and 14 years as a lacrosse coach. Serves as the speed coach for the varsity football team at FCS.

Alma mater and year graduated: Bachelor of Science Degrees, Physical Education and Psychology, SUNY Cortland 1990. Completed 30 units in master’s degree program of exercise science at San Diego State University.

Career awards, accomplishments, highlights: Guided 2019 FCS team to the GHSA Class A-AAAAA Girls Lacrosse Championships (Final Four) and posted a school record 17-2 mark. Became first female to coach athletes for, and attend the NFL Combine in 1996. Has served as Assistant Director IMG Academy, and Commissioner of Pope Jr Greyounds Lacrosse. Serves as coach for athletes in Major League Baseball, the National Football League and Major League Lacrosse.

Coaching philosophy: I coach to be an impactful provider of improved athletic performance. And I coach to be a leader, mentor and provider of life lessons that help young ladies to be impactful leaders in their own right. Self discipline, an understanding of one’s full potential and how to utilize it, along with a great appreciation for kindness is what I hope to leave my players with each season. I look forward to the reciprocating lessons I will receive from coaching these young ladies as well, and how it will impact my continued growth as a coach and human being.
