Years in teaching/coaching: Enters 2023-24 school year with 10 years in teaching, and eight in coaching. Also serves as varsity fishing coach and boys and girls middle school golf coach.

Family: Married to Amanda Morrell in 2014. They have a son, Andrew, and a daughter, Bonnie.
Career awards, accomplishments, highlights: Served previously as assistant coach with FCS varsity football team.
Coaching philosophy: I believe one of the most important things I can do as a coach is build relationships with our players. This way I get to know their strengths and weaknesses and hopefully learn what motivates them best in order to get the most effort on and off the field as a Christian man. Helping them deal with, and learn from tough situations now will help them succeed when they face adversity in the future. I also believe that creating a positive atmosphere for the players and encouraging them even when things are tough is key to building those strong relationships and motivating the players to do their best no matter what. Lastly, as a Christian coach it is also important for me to lead by example and emulate my Christian walk in practice, during games, and with both fans and opponents.
Other important biographical information: Played varsity football at Sequoyah High School, where he was named Most Valuable Receiver Award (2004), Cherokee County Gridiron Club/All County Receiver (2004), Cherokee County Athlete of the Week (during 2004 season) and Sequoyah Coaches Award (2003). Helped Sequoyah notch Region Championship in 2004. Played two seasons of college football at Shorter University in Rome from 2005-06.
