FCS Battles Hard, Falls at 5A Johns Creek in Season Finale

The Fellowship Christian School JV boys’ soccer team wrapped up the season on March 25.

The Paladins fought hard and fell in a close contest to 5A Johns Creek High school, 2-1, on the road.

“The team played well in their final JV game,” varsity head coach Ari Durham said. “We scored first and went into halftime up 1-0 due to an amazing goal from 30 yards out by Lucas Gonzales. We had a strong showing on the field from Hudson Young, Hayes Camak and Drew Tyler in the midfield, Colin Gibson on defense and Matthew McGarl at striker. Ian Storteboom had a strong and brave showing as keeper. I am proud of the progress and player development of the JV team!”

The team ended the season 1-3-1.

FCS Drops Game at 4A Centennial

The Fellowship Christian School JV boys’ soccer team played its second road match of the season on March 9.

The Paladins dropped a 3-0 decision at 4A Centennial High School in a non-Region match.

The match was tied 1-1 at halftime.

“Our 12-man JV team took on a capable Centennial team,” varsity head coach Ari Durham said. “Kyle Marcus had great night with many saves as goalkeeper. We had a strong defensive showing against a good attacking opponent. Drew Collins, Drew Tyler, Nicholas Peitsch and Collin Gibson anchored the backline.”

The team owns a 1-2-1 overall record.
