Paladins Capture Game One of Doubleheader

The Fellowship Christian School JV baseball team began a doubleheader with 3A Gilmer High School on March 22.

At Winchester Field at Paladin Park, the Paladins posted a 12-3 win. It was the second of three contests held at Winchester Field on the day as the varsity squad blanked Saint Francis, 10-0, to begin the day.

Sean Stephenson led the FCS JV team with two doubles, three hits and four RBIs. The Paladins finished with seven hits as a team, including one apiece by Will Bracken, Braden Burroughs, Mason Mosier and Thomas Newkirk.

Burrough belted a triple and drove in three runs. Griffin Lugar, who had four steals, and Austin Turner each drove in one run. Bracken belted one double.

The game lasted 4½ innings. Eli Latora started and picked up the win on the mound. He allowed two hits and one walk with four strikeouts. Andrew Ashworth threw two innings of hitless relief (one run allowed). Mosier tossed the final inning.

FCS improved to 4-6-3 overall with the win.

The team is unbeaten in its last four contests (3-0-1).

Paladins Post Road Win over 4A Druid Hills HS

The Fellowship Christian School JV baseball team has notched its third victory of the season.

On March 18, the Paladins posted a 14-8 non-Region win over 4A Druid Hills High School in Atlanta.

Fellowship pounded out nine hits and stole 10 bases in the victory.

“After our first win two weeks ago, we have been building positive momentum and playing well as a team,” head coach Lane Perrins said. “Winning is contagious, and the boys are improving every week. In our last five games, our record is 3-1-1. Small steps on road to success.”

Reid registered three RBIs, Burroughs drove in two runs, while Mason Mosier and Stephenson each had one RBI.

Lugar stole two bases and scored a pair of runs, Stephenson swiped three bases and Carl McCook scored twice.

The Paladins took an 11-0 lead with four runs in the first, three in the third and four in the fourth. The team added two more runs in the fifth, while Druid Hills scored eight times over its final three at-bats.

Burroughs started on the mound and picked up the victory. He threw four hitless innings and fanned five. Johnson Buice, Reid Turner and McCook all threw one inning in relief.

The Paladins improved to 3-6-3 with the victory. The team is 2-0-1 in its last three contests.
