Sophomore Thomas Newkirk drove home a team-best two runs, while Clifton, Statham, freshman Palmer Haslam and sophomores Colton Reid and Hudson Withers all had one RBI.
Newkirk pitched three innings of no-hit, shutout innings with five strikeouts. He picked up the victory. Sophomore Gus Town threw two innings in relief, allowing two hits, two walks and one run with four strikeouts.
“We won both games in five innings,” head coach Adam Knight said. “Our pitching was great, and we got on base a lot. We really just came to play.”
